On day 3 we first went to the Berlin TV Tower to get tickets. We had to wait about 2 hours between getting our tickets and actually being able to go up the tower so we headed over to Alexanderplatz, where there was some kind of festival thing going on. There were food stalls everywhere and we decided to grab something to eat. I went for currywurst which is cut up sausage with curry powder and ketchup on. Lizzy had some fried ice cream. Yep, that exists, and also came with a side of cream.
Going through security on the way up the TV tower they seemed more interested in my selfie stick than any potential weapons. It was confiscated off me and I was told I could collect it on my way down!
DDR Museum which was a really interesting museum about East Germany. It had loads of interactive displays showing what life was like for Germans during the Cold War.
Then we walked a looong way to the East Side Gallery, a part of the Berlin Wall that 118 artists painted on after its fall.
